Christmas Catch-up

Time to dust off the blog!  It has been more than a month since Poppy's birthday and my last entry.  No, things haven't been totally boring around here, but time has been at a minimum.  Today I realized that January is almost over, and I figured I better add something before a new month starts!  So here are some of our Christmas pictures!  Yes, the holiday that was last month.

Starting with Lucas and Poppy's visit with Santa, here are our pictures from Christmas (and shortly after) 2010.

Lucas was more excited to see Santa than he's letting on in this picture.  It was the shock of my life that Poppy didn't have a meltdown.

Here is where Lucas shows his happiness.  Too bad skinny Santa couldn't have given us a smile...

Lucas and Poppy's third and final picture with Santa turned out just as cute as the other two, although Santa still looks less than thrilled to be there.

Moving right along...

Lucas on Christmas morning.  He sure can rock the bed-head look!

Poppy in her pajamas to match Lucas, also on Christmas morning.

Walking out to see what Santa brought.  Can't you just feel how excited Lucas is?  His feet are barely touching the floor!

Oh wow!  Santa brought trains!  And there's Adam making an appearance via Skype in the background.

Lucas showing Daddy the airplane that came with the train table.

Synchronized unwrapping.  These kids are so talented, they can do it in unison. :-)

Poppy decided to help herself to the neatly piled presents (courtesy of Holly, the ultra-organizer) on the couch.

Lucas and Poppy in their Christmas best.

We lucked out with nice weather on Christmas, so Lucas was able to get out and run around with Chloe the Chorkie.

Poppy was able to pass this bib down to Chloe in celebration of her first Christmas.  She doesn't look too impressed, does she?

Poppy enjoyed some cuddle time with Aunt Holly.  And again, I am amazed she didn't freak out.

Our family picture, with Adam joining us from Okinawa on the afternoon of December 26.

Lucas with Grandma, the day after Christmas.  We forgot to open a big bag full of presents on Christmas, so the partying continued the next day.  Lucas was very happy to get his "fireman boots" from Grandma and Grandpa.

Now, this could have been a nice picture of Holly and Brad...

It was time for Grandpa to head back to Brookings, so Lucas and Poppy sat down to have their picture taken with him.  You would think that the 1 and 2 year olds would be the most difficult to photograph...but its actually the dude in the middle who can't seem to keep his eyes open when the flash goes off.  This was the best of seven attempts.  In the others, he just looks drunk or high...or both!

Aunt Holly and Uncle Brad (formerly known as "Holly's friend Brad") left at the same time and we got one last picture of Holly with Lucas and Poppy.

And one last picture with Brad and Chloe and Lucas.  Lucas is still talking about when Chloe licked him and it has been over a month.  He sure loved this little doggy!

The End!
