I'm a nerd for numbers. I like keeping track of how many days old my kids are (and, heck, I like keeping track of how many days old I am, too...in case you were wondering, I'm 10, 913 days old today). A few weeks ago I remembered that just before his second birthday, there was a day when he hit three big numerical milestones at once. For Poppy, that day was today! My baby is now 700 days old! She is also exactly 100 weeks old. And since it is November 22, she is 23 months old today. Wow!
We had a terribly stormy day and I almost forgot to get Poppy all dolled up for a fun picture but I did manage to convince her that standing in the wind and rain is fun long enough to get a few cute shots on her special day. To make it even more special, she got to wear the Winter coat that I (and my sisters!) wore when we were little. It's pretty much an antique now, but she couldn't get enough of the fur trim on the hood and sleeves. Fancy!
Today, Lucas is half-way between 3 and 4. It's his half-birthday, which is actually a term that makes me cringe, so I don't use it on a regular basis. We don't "celebrate" half-birthdays with parties or presents around here (although that may change once Poppy realizes that her real birthday is just three days before Christmas), but I did tell Lucas that today he can say "I'm three point five!" He's still saying he's three for now, though. :-)
