I've read seven books since the start of the year. I haven't loved all of them, but I usually persevere, hoping they get better (they don't always). The books are:

I took such a long break between books last year after finishing the Harry Potter series (my Post-Potter Depression, and yes of course it's a thing) but really I've enjoyed reading recently. I'm starting Matched by Ally Condie today. I'll be honest and say I don't think it looks like it will be my favorite book (or series, this is the first in a trilogy), but who knows? I loved Divergent (by Veronica Roth) when I first read it... and then I got to the third book and kind of became an anti-fan.
Have you heard? The Seahawks went to the Super Bowl...and WON! We decided to make the trip to Seattle for the big parade. It was fun, but it was one of the coldest days of the year. The kids will remember it forever. And so will the other 700,000 people who were there with us.
My 2014 Summer Garden is already in the planning stages. My 2014 Summer Garden probably started getting planned while my 2013 Summer Garden was still thriving. I've bought seeds for three things so far. Beets, Green Beans, and Brussels Sprouts. Of these, I'm most nervous about the Brussels Sprouts because we didn't plant any last year. And they are supposed to take almost three months to reach full maturity. That seems SO LONG. The four raspberry bushes I planted a month after we moved in (almost two years ago) are gigantic. I pruned them in January and some of the canes (I think that's what all the wild branches are called) are almost 10' tall. We'll have so many berries!
I have done 64 loads of laundry this year. I know because I've counted. Because I like to keep track of stupid things.
Poppy has turned into the stuff of nightmares. Kidding. This was just a glorious fluke for which I am very thankful. ;-)
Lucas and Poppy are still best friends. I hope this never changes, no matter what. I also hope they are always this awesome.
